Santa Cruz flotilla - Sea Scout

In January, progress was made in Santa Cruz with our relationship between Division 6 Flotilla members and the local Sea Scout Ship the SSS Steeves.

In a meeting held between the Steeves’ Skipper and Bruce Krogstad FSO-AS, 6-7, resulted in a better understanding of the Ship’s membership, activities, and their facility- the SSS Bosso. The Bosso is newly acquired and recently repaired and now operational. They are looking forward to when the Santa Cruz Harbor is more navigable so they can start cruising the Monterey Bay. The ship is a former US Coast Guard Ports & Waterways 42’ built in 1956 that recently was donated by the Santa Cruz Fire Department and is configured for firefighting with a pump and a water cannon.

We also reviewed the AUXSCOUT program in our meeting and laid the foundation for many possible post-Covid19 joint activities in the future.

Core Value Classes to Finished!

Hi All of Division 6,

We are hoping to have a class at the latter part of January 2019 for all of you to get thru these classes. Please let me know if you are wanting to have a class to complete these classes! There are more opportunities if you do! Just email me if you want this class. It maybe on a Saturday for the entire day. You can do these online, but this maybe a fast solution without hassel. It is up to you. I know there are four from 6-10 that need it, but we need to have more individuals to put on a class and arrange for instructors. Where and when will be available once I get your emails!

Thanks and Happy Holidays!!

Regards,

Jane D. Smith
